On Friday, March 29, Shefa’s sixth and seventh graders went to see the movie “One Life,” which portrays the remarkable story of Nicholas Winton. Through Winton’s establishment of a Kindertransport out of Prague, he saved over 600 Jewish children from Nazi-controlled territory before World War II began. This film was particularly significant for students as they had been learning about upstanders during the Holocaust in sixth grade. It was both exciting and moving for them to delve deeper into Sir Winton’s heroic efforts through this film.
