The students at The Springboard School at Lubavitch on the Palisades blasted into this week with a space unit! The “Let’s Play Astronaut” script gave students a framework for engaging in symbolic play.
They dressed up as astronauts, made and collected silver moon rocks, made craters on the moon from asteroids, learned about the phases of the moon, and even painted their own spaceship!
The students even built upon the narrative and added other space topics—like aliens!—beyond what was in the script.
