(Courtesy of Yad Leah) Eliana Zanjirian from Fair Lawn, and a seventh grader at Yeshiva Bais Hillel in Passaic, celebrated her bat mitzvah at the Yad Leah Warehouse. Her grandparents said she chose to host a warehouse packing event with her friends and family instead of a party.
The group performed the mitzvah of “v’ahavta l’reacha kamocha” by folding and packing 3,300 pieces of clothing to send to communities all across Israel. Eliana also understands that the clothes have to get to Israel, so she raised $2,500 by selling bracelets to help cover those shipping costs. Mazel Tov Eliana!
