SUVs are dominating the market for U.S. new car buyers, popular for their all-wheel drive, safety features, interior space and more. Like everything else, the SUV trend will eventually come to an end. Want to stay ahead of the trend? Here are three legitimate alternatives to SUVs to consider.
Station Wagon
In the ’80s and ’90s, station wagons were nothing to write home about. Today, however, even Ferrari cars have a station wagon type style. Station wagons are a hot commodity these days due to their ample cargo space, passenger comfort and all-weather capability. Sitting at the top of the station wagon ladder is the Audi RS6.
Pickup Truck
Pickup trucks are more practical than you might think. They’re wide enough for two full-size car seats with a child in between. The bed of a truck is extremely versatile; with a tonneau cover or a cap, you can store almost anything in a truck bed, even in the rain. The Dodge Ram is a prime pickup truck for families that rarely need a truck but still want one. The interiors are incredible and Rams always offer a smooth ride. Mulching has never been so fun.
Sprinter Van
Sprinter vans are not much bigger than a minivan but can be customized with a bathroom and a kitchen despite their size. You don’t need an RV to have a comfortable camper van experience! Even standard Mercedes-Benz Crew vans have windows for the second row and room for storage or a third row behind it. It’s a minivan on steroids.
