The first reason why the IDF should have invaded southern Lebanon is because everyone knew that Hezbollah would attack the citizens of northern Israel at some point. So why was Israel waiting for the attack to come instead of preemptively, striking Hezbollah, damaging their infrastructure and setting up a buffer zone pushing Hezbollah north of the Litani river?
The second reason is if one day Iran has a nuclear bomb and Hezbollah attacks Israel, Iran could say, “Hey Israel, if you dare strike back, then we will send a nuclear bomb that will destroy your country.”
The third reason why Israel should have attacked Hezbollah is because now you have some 80,000 Israeli civilians living in hotels. If Israel doesn’t act now, then Israel’s economy will continue to be wrecked—plus it’s just kicking the can down the road.
This past Shabbat was Shabbat Nachamu. It is certainly not a comfortable situation for the citizens of northern Israel to see the video that Hezbollah posted showing a large underground tunnel network with precision-guided missile trucks ready to fire at the citizens of northern Israel.
Israel must act now—Am Yisrael Chai!
