Three Yeshivas Win New Jersey State Bar Foundation Mock Trial Contests

Three local yeshivot—Yavneh Academy, Yeshivat Noam and Bruriah Middle School—have won the New Jersey State Bar Foundation’s Law Fair (grades three through six) and Law Adventure (grades seven and eight) 2019 statewide mock trial contests. Yavneh placed second in grade four, Yeshivat Noam placed first in grade five and Bruriah placed second in grade eight.

In each of the two competitions, students and their teachers were asked to create and write original cases focusing on legal issues of interest to students and which could be used as a tool to teach about the law. Winners will present their cases before judges and attorneys and juries of their peers in May at the New Jersey Law Center in New Brunswick.
