(Courtesy of Kaplen JCC) The Thurnauer School of Music invites pre-college students from New Jersey to audition for its master class featuring cellist Philippe Muller, former professor at the Paris Conservatory and faculty member at Manhattan School of Music. Auditions for participation in the class will be held on Sunday, December 15. Nominations to audition are due November 15. For more information, visit jccotp.org/Thurnauer or call 201-408-1461. The master class will be held on Sunday, January 19, 2 p.m.-5 p.m. in the Eric Brown Theater of the Kaplen JCC on the Palisades, 411 East Clinton Avenue, Tenafly, NJ. Attendance for the class is open to the public with free admission.
The Master Class is presented as part of the Thurnauer School of Music’s annual Sylvia and Jacob Handler Master Class series, and will be the 81st master class offered at the Thurnauer School since 1996, each featuring renowned artists such as violinist Itzhak Perlman, pianist Richard Goode and cellist Steven Isserlis.
