The Shavuot festival highlights a time when family and friends gather together to revel in the holiday’s various culinary endeavors, highlighted by dairy dishes.
At Tnuva’s headquarters in the Holy Land, a phalanx of the company’s gastronomic experts work diligently to create recipes for the Jewish world, based on the company’s constantly growing array of quality dairy and cheese products that are available in local supermarkets. Tnuva invites you to fashion some delicious holiday dishes with the following recipes:
No-Bake Cheesecake Over Crumbled Caramel Biscuits
Serves 6–8 portions
Ingredients:
1 cup powdered gelatin
½ cup boiling water
1 ½ cups caramel cookies
½ cup Tnuva Butter
3.5 cups 9% Tnuva White Soft Cheese
2/3 cup sugar + 2 tablespoons sugar
1 cup Tnuva Chef Halavan 38% Sweet Cream for whipping
Directions:
1. Dissolve the gelatin in ½ cup of boiling water and refrigerate.
2. Crumble the caramel cookies in a food processor.
3. Melt the butter in a small pot or microwave. Pour over the crumbled cookies and mix well.
4. Pour crumbled cookie mixture into a round pan, 10 inches in diameter.
5. Mix the white cheese with 2/3 cup of sugar.
6. Whip the sweet cream with 2 tablespoons of sugar.
7. Fold the whipped cream into the cheese mixture and add the dissolved gelatin.
8. Pour the mixture over the cookie crumbs, cover the pan tightly with plastic wrap and refrigerate for a few hours until hardened.
Cheese Omelet-Stuffed Bread Rolls
Serves 2
Ingredients:
2 medium-sized rolls, preferably with hard crust
6 eggs
½ cup grated Tnuva Mozzarella or Cheddar Cheese
1 green onion, chopped
Salt and pepper to taste
Directions:
1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
2. Slice off the top part of the bread rolls and scoop out the inside of the bottom half to create space for filling.
3. Toast the rolls in the oven for 7 minutes. Remove the rolls and let them cool for a few minutes.
4. In a bowl, combine eggs with the grated cheese and green onion and beat well. Season with salt and pepper, and add the mixture into the hollowed out bread.
5. Bake the rolls for about 15 minutes, until the eggs look golden.
6. Serve hot.
