The honor was bestowed in recognition of her service as associate director of Bris Avrohom, director of Bat Sheva Chaya Esther Mikvah and, most notably, her role as founder and executive director of Cheder Yaldei Menachem.

In her speech after accepting the award, Rebbetzin Kanelsky stressed the important role women play in the education of their children. She quoted King Solomon, the wisest of men, who famously said, “The wisdom of a woman builds her home.” A woman is the cornerstone of her home, and she must be proud of her privilege and obligation to teach her children proper morals and traditions, belief in one God, respecting elders and modesty.

New Jersey Senator Renee Burgess presented the rebbetzin with an official New Jersey Senate citation, a proclamation and a bouquet of flowers for her outstanding work and leadership. The event was a true kiddush Hashem!
