On Thursday evening, April 7, a gunman reportedly killed two people and injured at least eight others in the center of Tel Aviv after shooting on the busy Dizengoff Street. According to the Jerusalem Post, the attacker was still at large following the arrival of police, and authorities have advised that Tel Aviv residents stay indoors until the gunman is caught.
The shooting is the latest in a series of terrorist attacks that began last month, so far affecting Beersheba, Hadera and Bnei Brak and claiming the lives of 11 Israelis. The Tel Aviv attack raises the death toll to 13 total, with many others affected.
As of Thursday night, Prime Minister Naftali Bennett and Defense Minister Benny Gantz were making their way to the Kirya Military headquarters in Tel Aviv and receiving regular updates about the attack.
