‘Tree of Life’ Art Collection to Display at Englewood Gallery

(Courtesy of Jennie Mohl Art) Jennie Mohl Art announces the “Tree of Life Collection” by Michal Shmuel, a series of 18 paintings. In each art piece, the presentation of the tree is depicted in a different technique.

An exhibition of this collection, alongside the works of other Israeli artists. will take place at Arielle’s Gallery, located at 20 N. Dean Street in Englewood, from September 3-8.

Shmuel finds the tree as a wonderful source for artistic inspiration. “I love trees, but beyond that, the tree is a creation that does us a lot of good, and that is why I loved painting this series. For me, a tree symbolizes the forces of life, the energy to develop, grow and cope. That is why it was easy for me to connect with the story of the trees presented before you,” she said.

It is no coincidence that the collection is being exhibited the week of Chai Elul. Chai Elul is a significant date in the Chabad-Lubavitch calendar. It falls on the 18th day of the Hebrew month of Elul.

Chai means life in Hebrew, and it has spiritual significance in Jewish culture. Chai Elul marks the birthdays of both Rabbi Yisrael Baal Shem Tov, the founder of Hasidic Judaism, and Rabbi Schneur Zalman of Liadi, the founder of Chabad Chasidism. This day is considered a time of reflection, increased spiritual activities, and preparation for the upcoming High Holy Days. It’s a day when Chabad Chasidim commemorate the legacies of these two important figures and focus on renewal and growth.

All are welcome to stop by during gallery hours to view the artwork. Originals and prints will be available for sale, with a percentage of sales going to Leket Israel—Israel’s National Food Bank. Onsite framing will be available as well.
