As one of its many programs, Bris Avrohom has a stand at the El Al airline at Newark Airport, where Rabbi Avremy Kanelsky puts tefillin on the staff and passengers. In addition, Rabbi Kanelsky gives Torah classes there prior to each holiday and discusses the beauty and meaning behind them.

Recently Rabbi Kanelsky went to speak about the holiday of Tu B’Shevat. He brought a beautiful fruit platter and explained the importance of the day and the lessons we can learn about serving God in the proper way. He expounded on the concept of assuring that our roots are strong, and how our traditions play a great role in our lives. However, making sure our traditions continue to the next generation is imperative. Another thought Rabbi Kanelsky shared was how as Jews we celebrate the power of potential—we are rejoicing in the seeds, while eating and enjoying the actual fruits.
