FC Teaneck’s U9 Boys Hurricanes and U11 Boys Fire earned winner’s medals, and U13 Boys Thunder claimed second place as the clubs took home their first-ever tournament championships at the 37th Clarkstown Invitational Soccer Tournament on January 11 at Rockland Community College in Suffern, NY.
The Hurricanes, led by Jakob Margolin’s nine goals, outscored opponents 24-3 en route to the championship. Zaviel Taubenfeld, Jake Davidson, and Shay Fields provided solid goalkeeping to backstop a hard-working team effort. Eli Knapp and Christian Brady provided scoring punch, and Ilan Davidovsky starred in goal for FC Teaneck Fire, which defeated four teams from New York to win the title.
The U13 Thunder squad fought back after an early round defeat to earn a spot in the championship match, but fell 6-4 in the final.
FC Teaneck, which began play with the 2014 Fall Season, is a competitive travel soccer program for Teaneck residents. Home games are played at the Votee SportsPlex during the fall and spring seasons, and at Teaneck High School and the Richard Rodda Community Center in the winter.
