The TABC Storm Varsity Softball Team are too hot to stop. Only one week into their season, the team is now 5-0 after back to back wins over JEC and Heichal HaTorah in a Friday afternoon doubleheader at Votee Park. In Game 1 against JEC, the Storm scored all their runs in the third inning with RBI singles from seniors Jonathan Haberman, Joseph Segal, and Avraham Kahan. JEC left numerous runners stranded in scoring position, including in a 6-4-3 double play, thanks to terrific fielding from shortstop Ari Katz ‘19. Senior Eli Schloss pitched the complete game and the Storm won 3-0. If the players were tired by the time they took the field against Heichal, you couldn’t tell. The Storm were able to capitalize on numerous errors by Heichal. Seniors Azi Lieber and Isaac Shapiro drove home multiple runs, and junior Jake Rothenberg pitched a no-hitter and scored the last run to end the game early after four innings, clinching the 10-0 mercy victory.
