The leadership at the Union Y announced that Diane Mael has joined the staff as director of adult and senior services.
Mael brings a wealth of experience in the Jewish not-for-profit world, most recently 11 years at the JCC in Edison where she initiated the Baby Boomers department and such programs as pickleball, day trips, mahjong tournaments and much more. Robbie Heizler, the Y board president, stated, “We are very excited to have Diane with us and look forward to new offerings for all adults and seniors in our area.”
The Union Y, located at 501 Green Lane in Union, New Jersey, and previously known as the YM-YWHA of Union County, has been a vibrant part of the Jewish community in Elizabeth, Hillside, Union and adjoining areas for over 125 years, including 50 years at its current location. It has developed strong ties with the Jewish Educational Center/Bruriah, Jewish Family Services and other community institutions.
