Atlantic City Trips Scheduled for Spring
The YM-YWHA of Union will offer three trips to Resorts Hotel in Atlantic City for Spring 2016. The dates are Wednesday, April 6; Wednesday, May 11 and Wednesday, June 15. There will be additional trips in July, Aug., & Sept. (TBA). Coach Bus will leave the Y at 8:15 a.m. and each participant will get a Bagel Breakfast bag. The cost is $30, and $25 is returned in the form of play money for the Casino. The bus returns to the Y at 6:30 p.m. To reserve a place, please contact Carole & David Newman at 908-964-7211. Carrie Jackson Concert to Be Co-Sponsored by National Council of Jewish Women
The YM-YWHA of Union County is pleased to announce a cabaret concert by the talented Carrie Jackson on Sunday, April 3 at 1 p.m. Carrie combines jazz originals, standards and pop/blues tunes, with Noriko Kamo on the piano. Also performing will be Thaddeus Expose on bass and Gordon Lane on drums. According to the Star-Ledger reviews, “Carrie Jackson is a rich-voiced blues, ballads, and jazz singer who is an asset to the American Songbook.” The entire community is invited to enjoy this production. It is free to seniors and students; a voluntary donation of $10 is requested for others. Light refreshments will be served. There will also be a collection of non-perishable food, which will be donated. This program is funded in part by a HEART GRANT from the Union County Board of Chosen Freeholders, as well as the Union County Section of National Council of Jewish Women and the YM-YWHA of Union County. Model Seder to Be Held
on April 13
The YM-YWHA of Union County will conduct its annual Model Seder (Ershow-Levenberg Model Seder) on Wednesday, April 13. Beginning at 10:30 a.m., Bryan Fox will give an abbreviated Haggadah reading, followed by the traditional Passover meal. The Nursery school children will be performing some special songs. To reserve a place, please contact the Y at 908-289-8112. The fee is $7, and $5 for Y members. Reservations must be made in advance.
