Update From Laniado Hospital On the Current Situation in Israel

Some soldiers of the Homefront Command Company at Laniado.

Laniado is on the frontline accepting and treating casualties and victims of terror. During the last 24 hours, we have received about 80 injured people, in various degrees of injury, including injured people who had to be operated on urgently.

Among the injured are soldiers as well as revelers who were victims of the massacre at the music festival in Kibbutz Re’im. The testimonies that the hospital staff heard from the injured and the accompanying families are terrifying and shocking.

We regret to announce the death of Lt. Col. Yonatan Tzur, Hy’d. Lt. Col. Tzur is the husband of Mrs. Rashit Tzur, a physiotherapist in the hospital. Lt. Col. Tzur is also the brother of Ms. Tzurya Menashevski, a midwife in the delivery room.

Also, during the battles, soldier Ofir Zioni, Hy’d, was killed. Ofir is the son of a CT radiologist who works in the CT Institute in the hospital.

An information center for the public has been opened in the hospital. The hotline is staffed by the social work team around the clock. In addition, the social work team provides round-the-clock support for the families of the injured as well as assistance in identifying missing persons.

We are preparing for the escalation of the situation, both in terms of receiving a significant number of patients from the southern region of Israel and for extreme situations of opening additional war zones in the northern region/Judea and Samaria. For this purpose, we are in continuous contact with all the relevant parties: the Israel Police, the IDF Home Front Command, the Municipality of Netanya, and the Ministry of Health.

Aviad Zada, physiotherapist at Laniado, returns from IDF and receives care package from the hospital for his unit.

During the morning hours, an IDF Reserve Unit assigned to the hospital in war situations was mobilized and stationed at the hospital. The soldiers of the unit are engaged in helping to carry out logistical tasks.

Information is making its way to us slowly. However, where possible we will keep you updated. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims of these atrocities and their families, and we ask the Al-mighty’s help in bringing a speedy recovery to all.
