Buying or selling a home is a big deal. In all likelihood it’s one of the biggest financial transactions you’ll ever make. So wouldn’t you want a professional, familiar with all the nuances that go into such an event, guiding you through the process?
Linda Stamker, a Realtor® for V&N Realty, is such an expert. In fact, she’s consistently received the NJ Realtors® Circle of Excellence Award® every year since 2008. Linda has been a Bergen County realtor for 11 years. Not only does she live in the community, she focuses on Teaneck, Bergenfield, New Milford, Tenafly, Paramus, Fort Lee and the surrounding towns.
Linda’s key to success is really listening to her clients and then helping them find exactly what they’re looking for. Sometimes it’s a couple moving from an apartment to their first home. Sometimes it’s empty nesters who are ready to downsize. Often her clients have a vague idea of what they’re looking for but aren’t exactly sure. Linda makes a point of understanding their needs, not just for real estate but for the lives they want to build around their homes.
“I’m a very intuitive person,” she said. “Sometimes people can’t express what it is they’re looking for. That’s where my experience comes in where I can help match them with the community and home that best suits their needs.” It’s so important and helpful when an agent knows the neighborhoods in which they are showing homes.
Linda grew up in Tenafly, lived in Fort Lee for many years and now calls Bergenfield home, so she knows the neighborhoods she’s representing well.
Having literally sold hundreds of condos and co-ops, Linda has established herself as an expert in the Fort Lee high-rise market. As she told The Jewish Link, “Every building is so different—some allow pets and rentals, some do not—there are so many intricate things to understand about each building’s admission policies, apartment layouts and more. That’s why it’s important to work with an expert. If you don’t work with an agent who knows what they’re doing it can be a nightmare.”
She often helps people downsize from large homes to simplify their lives by moving into luxury buildings in Fort Lee that put them near their children and grandchildren in neighboring towns, yet not right next door. She is proficient at pre-qualifying buyers to meet board requirements and prepares flawless purchase applications so buyers will be approved.
Linda’s joining V&N Realty has been a boon for both parties. Linda was attracted to the legacy V&N has created. “They are really the premier broker in the area, with a 20-plus year history and a sterling reputation,” she said. “They have sold so many homes over so many years that for any given home, they probably know who built it, who lives there now and who the previous owners were!” That kind of knowledge is rare. It’s extremely important for buyers and sellers to work with trusted local market experts—people who know the town, the neighborhoods, schools, homes and all services a town offers, which is something in which V&N excels. “We also both have been witnessing a trend for homeowners moving to Fort Lee as well as other local communities with apartments from the area, and no other agent has the dual experience I do in both markets. We’re looking forward to growing our business together!”
Linda helps families buy and sell homes in all price ranges and also handles rentals. She pretty much does it all when it comes to residential properties.
“Not only am I a matchmaker between families and their future homes, I am also an expeditor and a navigator. The home-buying process is complex. I will navigate my clients through the entire process, from negotiations through closing, as well as coordinate among lawyers, mortgage bankers and other parties involved.”
The home buying or selling process is an intense period in people’s lives. Linda focuses on really getting to know her clients. “We spend a lot of time together, speaking at all hours of the day and night, and they know I’m there for them before, during and after the sale.” One look at her Zillow reviews drives this point home. Her past clients have posted how much they respect her professionalism, market knowledge and willingness to go the extra mile: traits she brings to every transaction whether it’s a rental, low-priced apartment or million-dollar home.
Recently she began a series of Facebook videos called “Talk of the Town,” where she highlights different local businesses and offerings in Bergen County, uncovering hidden gems and imparting useful information. As Linda shared, “I want my clients to feel comfortable in their new communities and this video series is a way to help them acclimate.” Visit her Facebook page to watch them, or watch one here.
Prior to V&N, Linda worked for Prominent Properties Sotheby’s International Realty, where she gained a lot of experience in marketing luxury homes.
