October 19 at Pascack Valley High School: Valley Chabad will be sponsoring a captivating evening with a presentation by Holocaust survivor Mrs. Marthe Cohn of her heroic experiences as a spy during World War II. Living in France on the German border, she enlisted in the French Army and was placed in the French Intelligence Service. Marthe was fluent in German and was sent behind enemy lines into Germany to report on Nazi troop movements. Posing as a young blond German nurse looking for her fictional missing fiancé, Marthe was able to mingle with German troops and obtain information about their military strength and movements. This information was then relayed to Allied commanders for battle planning. At age 80, Marthe was awarded France’s highest military honor, the Medaille Militaire, for her outstanding military service.

The program will be introduced by Dovid Efune, editor-in-chief of the Algemeiner newspaper, who will discuss world anti-Semitism and the BDS movement on college campuses

In partnership with Pascack Valley Regional High School District and its Holocaust Studies Program, this event is produced by the Eternal Flame of Valley Chabad and the George and Martha Rich Foundation, whose goal is to promote tolerance, acceptance and respect for all people. The event is also being sponsored by The Bristal Assisted Living, North Jersey Media, Oritani Bank and the Bergen County YJCC.

This event will take place on Monday, October 19, at Pascack Valley High School, 200 Piermont Avenue, Hillsdale, NJ. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m., with the program beginning at 7:15 p.m. Fees for tickets are $18 for adults, $10 for students. VIP seating is available for $40, and a limited number of Premium VIP Experiences are available for $90 that include a VIP seat, a signed copy of Marthe’s book and a private Meet & Greet with Marthe before the event. Signed copies of Marthe’s book “Behind Enemy Lines” will also be available for purchase for $20.
