The Eternal Flame Teen Fellowship at Valley Chabad took its fourth annual trip Washington, DC over the first weekend in April. With cherry blossoms still in full bloom, over 45 teens began their trip by spending Friday in the Holocaust Museum reflecting on their people’s horrific recent past and meeting with survivors. The focus of that evening’s Shabbat dinner was on how to ensure a better and brighter Jewish tomorrow.
The group got to visit Chabad of GWU, the capitol building, monuments and memorials throughout the nation’s capital. Over Shabbat the group joining the Chabad community in nearby Alexandria, Virginia.
The trip, led by Rabbi Yosef Orenstein of Valley Chabad Teen Leadership Initiative, is part of the Eternal Flame program supported by the George and Martha Rich Foundation. This year’s group was joined by Chabad CTeen chapters from Dix Hills, New York and Newton, Pennsylvania.
