As a proud product of public education through high school graduation in New York and a devoted parent of three children, two of whom have and currently attend Teaneck public schools with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), and my youngest who attended Bryant School, I deeply understand the value of a strong public education.
With over two decades of experience as a frontline healthcare professional and CSEA union member, including 22 consecutive months working on the COVID units of my hospital, I possess the dedication and compassion needed to listen and address the concerns of parents/guardians and students. I prioritize creating a physically and emotionally safe environment, with zero tolerance for bullying and hate speech.
I also think there needs to be fiscal responsibility so that all of our children get the most benefit from our tax dollars without the financial irresponsibility of the past.
We need to do more for our special education children’s needs for academic achievement, while still supporting their psychological and social-emotional needs.
I am committed to enhancing academic achievement for all of Teaneck’s children, especially those facing challenges post-pandemic, providing the necessary resources and supports needed for success.
