Voting Electronically While Living Abroad

American citizens who live internationally or are in the military can still easily participate in the upcoming election in November. Qualifying citizens should contact their local county clerk’s office ( www.nj.gov/state/elections/index.shtm   and in NY, www.elections.ny.gov/countyboards.html ) and request the form to vote electronically. First they will have to fill out a ballot request form (this can be used to register to vote as well), making sure to choose the option to have their ballot sent electronically.

Then, email all official election materials: ballot, transmission sheet and waiver to local board of elections. In Bergen County, these items should be sent to [email protected]. Voters then also have to mail original documents to the board of elections to reach the office no later than November 10.

Bergen County office: Bergen County, Board of Elections, One Bergen County Plaza, Room 31, Hackensack, NJ 07601 USA.

Note: If you do not know which county clerk’s office to send the application, contact the New Jersey Division of Elections or call 1-877-NJVOTER.
