WDS students took Earth Day celebrations to a new level by celebrating all week! Under the guidance of Ms. Shapiro and Ms. Goldstein, students in grades k-six worked on various STEAM activities in the school garden.
With Ms. Shapiro, students transferred compost into the raised beds, planted strawberries and dug a new garden bed for the raspberry bushes.
With Ms. Goldstein, students used recycled materials to design mosaic stepping stones and painted wonderful decorations for the outside of the garden.
Grades seven and eight worked with Mr. Kogut and planted trees on campus along with learning source sheets about the importance of caring for the environment from the Torah.
There is always more to explore at WDS!
