To prepare for Purim, WTA middle school students stepped into the role of teachers, teaching their lower school peers about why people dress up on Purim. The students learned about the tradition by acting out skits, comparing and contrasting pictures, and discussing different components of the story of Megillat Esther. Not only does this practice help strengthen the school community, it also reinforces the lessons for both older and younger students. Middle schoolers get the benefit of learning by teaching, and lower school students break their routines and learn from someone new!
Then, after Purim, WTA continued the celebrations with a very special Shushan Purim Party, featuring The #SaraSquad! Throughout the day, students of all ages had their turn to come to the gym, and each group was treated to glow in the dark dances and activities. From games with inflatable balls as big as the students, to traditional simcha dancing and so much more, students enjoyed one last taste of Purim celebrations before shifting gears into Pesach preparation.
