This past Friday, the third grade at Westchester Day School took the stage for their unforgettable Rashi Play—a beloved WDS tradition that brings the life and teachings of Rashi to life through song, drama, and Torah learning.
Performed entirely in Hebrew, the play highlighted key moments from Rashi’s life and the Torah he so brilliantly interpreted. From Bri’at HaOlam (the creation of the world) to the story of the 12 shevatim, heartfelt tefillot, and a moving portrayal of Rashi’s humility and wisdom, the students conveyed timeless messages of unity, family, and love for Eretz Yisrael. Their fluency, passion, and poise made a lasting impression on everyone in the audience.
Under the direction of Morah Sivan and Moreh Ari, the third graders shone on stage—speaking beautifully, singing with energy, and truly bringing Rashi’s teachings to life in a powerful and modern way. It was a meaningful and memorable way to close out the school year, showcasing the students’ growth and the strength of the WDS Hebrew and Judaic Studies curriculum.
Kol hakavod to the talented third grade students and dedicated teachers on a performance that will not soon be forgotten!
