WDS Welcomes Grandparents And Special Friends

WDS was thrilled to welcome over 375 grandparents and special friends to one of the most meaningful events of the school year. Visitors joined from near and far to experience the magic of a day in the life at WDS. The day began with a ruach-filled Rosh Chodesh davening and breakfast. Educators then showcased their care and creativity by curating exciting and engaging activities that were tied to their curriculums and the upcoming Purim holiday. The campus was pulsing with vibrant enthusiasm, from development based centers in early childhood classrooms, to multigenerational interviews, collaborative poetry, Escape the Room b’Ivrit, and crafts and  projects showcasing Ahavat Yisrael in elementary and middle school.

The event culminated with a beautiful luncheon, which included a musical tekes with kindergarten through eighth graders in which students and visitors joined together in a meaningful “Hatikvah” and rendition of Am Yisrael Chai. Flags were waving and voices were booming in a very powerful and emotional experience. One visitor said, “I was overwhelmed, in the best way possible, when we all sang ‘Am Yisrael Chai’ all together!” This special day left visitors overflowing with WDS pride and nachas for the educational experience students receive each and every day. WDS is profoundly grateful for the support of grandparents and special friends, and now more than ever, their belief in the mission of school and the importance of passing on Jewish heritage and traditions, midor l’dor.
