I was disappointed to read an unsigned letter (“Are Masks Medically Necessary?” June 4, 2020) which cherry-picked a note about wearing masks outside medical facilities.
It’s a setback to those of us who want/need to be safe when we walk around the block or go to the local store.
The other day a gentleman walked into the local kosher store without a mask—when it was mentioned to him, he simply laughed it off.
Such behavior should be deemed unacceptable.
Perhaps some medical professionals and some rabbanim will weigh in with signed opinions.
