“The U.S. Supreme court will begin hearing oral arguments this week on whether states with federal health exchanges are entitled under the law to subsidies that help to make coverage more affordable and obtainable. The stakes are incredibly high for New Jersey.

“Thousands of residents, many of whom now have coverage for the first time, could lose access to healthcare. Unfortunately, we are in this position because of the governor’s short-sighted decision to reject a state-operated health exchange. From family planning to federal health care reform, the governor’s decision-making has been guided by his political aspirations. If subsidies are eliminated as a result of this case, his actions will again be to the detriment of our residents.”
