Linking Northern and Central NJ, Bronx, Manhattan, Westchester and CT

Westchester Day School kids don’t blend in. They stand out.

At Westchester Day School, we understand the importance of a supportive and caring environment in a child’s formative years. That’s why we offer a comprehensive educational experience that spans from early childhood (2-year-old tots) through middle school (grade eight). Our commitment to providing an intimate and personalized learning experience ensures that each child’s individual needs are met, setting them on a path towards success and self-discovery.

Long-Standing Relationships

One of the distinguishing features of our school is the close-knit community that we’ve fostered over the years—76 years to be exact! We take pride in the long-standing relationships that are formed among our students, alumni, parents and faculty. These bonds extend beyond the classroom, creating a sense of belonging and support that lasts a lifetime. Our school is not just an educational institution; it’s a second home where every child and every family is valued.

Empowering a Strong Sense of Self

As educators, we understand the importance of empowering students to develop a strong sense of self. Beyond academic achievements, and with the guidance of the Torah and Jewish learning, we focus on character development and personal growth. Our balance of Judaic learning and general studies ensures that students leave our school not only academically prepared but also with a deep understanding of their own Jewish values and beliefs.

Support Students @ WDS

WDS is dedicated to understanding each student’s unique needs. Our Learning Center specialists, school psychologist and social worker—in collaboration with teachers, parents and external professionals—provide tailored support to help students reach their potential. We offer enrichment opportunities for those seeking to deepen their learning experience. Our commitment to executive functioning skills is exemplified through programs like GoodStart and NextStep, helping students develop organizational habits, study skills and emotional resilience. After-School Homework Club also reinforces executive functioning skills and helps students complete homework in a supportive environment.

A Smooth Transition to High School

As children progress through our school, they receive a well-rounded education that prepares them for the challenges of high school and beyond. Our graduates have a track record of success as they continue their learning journey into their chosen high schools. We provide the foundation they need to excel academically, socially and emotionally in the next phase of their education. Our students are renowned for their critical thinking and ability to analyze, interpret and question the material, as well as the foundational study skills and habits that enable their success.
