What a year it has been! WDS sixth, seventh and eighth graders each took amazing class trips to celebrate a wonderful school year and fortify their bonds as friends and classmates!
The sixth graders began their day trip by reaching new heights at rock climbing where they cheered on classmates, conquered some fears, and laughed a lot together. They then continued their day by escaping the room, putting their minds together to solve challenging puzzles and working together against a countdown clock. They finished the day off by tapping into their creative sides with a guided paint nite, where they each painted a beautiful sunrise over the water, reminiscent of the landscape at Westchester Day School.
Seventh graders explored Boston during an outstanding two-day adventure. They enjoyed a stop at the National Basketball Hall of Fame, breathtaking views from the observation deck at the Custom House, a Red Sox vs. Mariners game at Fenway Park. They even spent time exploring the historic Faneuil Hall and enjoyed a city tour on an amphibious Ducky Boat.
Eighth graders enjoyed a three-day trip to Washington, DC. They visited the Spy Museum, the White House, an Orioles baseball game, tour of the Capitol, scavenger hunt at the American History Smithsonian Museum, U.S. Holocaust Museum and Monuments Tour of the Washington, WWII, Lincoln, Vietnam, MLK Jr. and FDR memorials. On their way home they stopped at Six Flags Great Adventure for a day of fun and more bonding time!
