Westchester Torah Academy had an amazing first week! Following the school’s tradition, incoming first grade students were welcomed with a special ceremony—Kabbalat Kitah Alef. The children gathered together under a tallit to receive special brachot from Head of School Morah Deganit Ronen, and celebrate the new year with a blast from the shofar.
Also exciting was the introduction of music classes to the fifth and sixth grade classes this year. They will be learning the fundamentals of guitar as well as overall musicianship with Moreh Brian in the brand new music studio. He will also be leading the all-new band elective where middle school students who already have the ability to play an instrument will learn to play new songs and ultimately put it all together to create the very first WTA Band!
Middle school is off to a great start, starting each morning with an inspiring Shacharit in the beit midrash, used exclusively for tefilla and Torah. With new furniture, it looks and feels more and more like a בית הכנסת. It’s really an amazing way to start the day, and the school invites any parent or community member to join!
