Rabbi Moshe Weinberger of Aish Kodesh made a fascinating point that shouldn’t be lost on anyone. Many ask, “I am making so much change in my life to come closer to God; why isn’t God talking and reaching out to me?” He notes that God is talking to you in everything you do. The Gemara you just learned was necessary to move your life forward. Maybe it brought you to the next level in learning or gave you the necessary perspective for understanding something in your life. That Rashi you just read, you needed to see. That Gra on Mishlei you just studied was necessary for you to study and learn from at that exact moment. The Ramban on the Torah that you just looked up was necessary for you to see for the next move in your life. It can be added, the video you just watched, or article or quote you just read was necessary to see at that exact moment for setting a new trajectory in your life.
Every event and occurrence that comes your way prepares you for the next step of life. We’re being spoken to and led moment by moment. My hearing of the Rav’s shiur when I did was a message I needed to hear at that moment to bring the proper perspective to my life and propel me towards an infinite future of growth.
