Sophomores in Mrs. Ahuva Mantell’s art class started a new Artists’ Beit Midrash lesson. Mrs. Mantell separated the text of the Hallelukah prayer into sections and put each section on a card in both Hebrew and English. In teams of four, students took a card and physically represented the text using their bodies to understand and express the text in a multi-sensory way.
In the next few weeks, students will choose a specific text from the prayer and create a work of art based on their connection and interpretation of the words.
