Linking Northern and Central NJ, Bronx, Manhattan, Westchester and CT

Seven years ago I created Crossrope because I wanted a better jump rope. Through years of athletic training and fitness routines, I experienced the joy of jumping offset by poor quality ropes that would break and hinder my workouts. The origin of my jump rope venture was painful (literally). In 2011, I tore my pectoral muscle while doing the bench press and required surgery. The surgery sidelined me from participating in two of my driving passions: exercising and flying. At the time, I was a pilot in the Navy and I couldn’t fly for three months. I’d always wanted to pursue entrepreneurship so I thought maybe this injury was a blessing in disguise and I could use the “down-time” to jump into an idea I’d had. That idea was an interchangeable jump rope system. Most fitness equipment can be easily modified to increase or decrease the resistance or difficulty. With jumping rope, there was no such tool. I got to work and launched Crossrope within a year.

Fast forward to 2018 and the popularity of jump rope training has exploded. However, many people are still unaware of the benefits that come with this style of training. The jump rope is one of the oldest training tools. It’s great for all fitness and ability levels and only requires a rope and a little space for an effective workout. I am often asked why a person should jump rope. Here are the main benefits of jumping rope:

You can get the benefits above with any regular jump rope. But now let’s discuss the weighted jump ropes. We believe that heavy jump ropes are the best kept secret in fitness. In fact, “Men’s Health” used Crossrope and countered conventional thinking about jump ropes in saying Crossrope is “a set of weighted jump ropes that turn a warm up into a challenging workout.” Weighted ropes provide these additional benefits:

The heavier the rope, the greater the resistance. And the greater resistance, the greater the muscle engagement.
