Wilf Family Attends Bruriah Tehillim-a-Thon Held in Memory of Family Patriarch

Bruriah was honored to host Mrs. Susie Wilf and her son and JEC alumnus Mr. Mark Wilf last week, when they joined students in a Tehillim-a-thon held in memory of longtime JEC benefactor and Chairman of the Board Mr. Joseph Wilf, a”h, who passed away several weeks ago. (seen here in photo with Rabbi Joseph Oratz, Principal of Bruriah (far left) and Rav Elazar Mayer Teitz, Dean of the JEC (second from right)).

The Tehillim-a-thon brought the Bruriah student body together for the recitation of the entire Sefer Tehillim, which was completed over six times in under one hour. Every student has their own unique Perek that they were assigned upon entering the school and which remains an important and powerful spiritual resource throughout their lives—for both happy and challenging occasions.

Also considered during the marathon prayer session was the Koby Mandell Foundation and specifically, Camp Koby, as well as Project Renewal, through which Bruriah chemistry teacher Mrs. Selma Eis donated a kidney to a young man from Israel several years ago. She spoke to students about her experience and encouraged them to embrace a healthy lifestyle both in body and mind.
