There is no doubt about it—Winter is here! Moriah nursery children had lots of conversations this week about how people and animals learn to live in the cold. Some animals, like bears, hibernate. They eat and eat and then take a long nap and don’t wake up until spring. Some animals, like birds, migrate. They fly to a warm place and don’t return until it is warm back north. Some animals, like people, adapt. We put on heavy coats and mittens and eat lots of hot oatmeal and drink hot cocoa. On Tuesday, we all pretended to be bears and ate a huge breakfast of pancakes, waffles, oatmeal and hot cocoa with marshmallows. We then heard a bedtime story and “hibernated” in a cave. Hooray for Pajama Day!
