Recently, a large group of women from different parts of Russia, along with their shluchos of the rebbe, visited Lubavitch Headquarters in Brooklyn, New York and went to the holy Ohel to pray. They then made a trip to the state-of-the-art “Bat Sheva Chaya Esther Mikvah” and were given a tour by Rebbetzin Shterney Kanelsky, associate director, Bris Avrohom.
The mikvah was named after Bat Sheva, ob”m, Kanelsky, daughter of Rabbi & Mrs. Kanelsky, whose short life of 65 days was the vehicle that inspired thousands of individuals to increase their good deeds. It was also named after Rebbetzin Chaya Esther, ob”m, Zaltzman, Mrs. Kanelsky’s mother, who exhibited extraordinary self sacrifice and devotion to the Jewish community throughout her life.
The tour was followed by a dinner and Farbrengen at Bris Avrohom’s headquarters, where Rabbi & Mrs. Kanelsky shared stories with the group about growing up in the Former Soviet Union under Communist rule. Their parents exhibited extreme self-sacrifice in making sure they continued the chain of yiddishkeit. The group and their shluchos were greatly inspired by their narratives.
