As Westchester Torah Academy continues to grow, we are excited to introduce just a few of our newest faculty members who bring a wealth of experience, knowledge, and passion to our school community. Each of these educators and professionals is dedicated to upholding the core values and educational excellence that WTA is known for.
Melissa Sassone, Nitzanim (Pre-K) Teacher
Morah Melissa is in her seventh year of teaching, after receiving her masters’ in early childhood education from Mercy University. She’s worked in both elementary and UPK classrooms, and loves to share her love of learning with “new little learners.” Morah Melissa is thrilled to be a part of the rapidly expanding early childhood program at WTA; one of her personal core values is family tradition, and she feels blessed to be joining such a warm and family-oriented school community. She’s looking forward to helping the early childhood program continue to thrive and grow.
Malka Iskowitz, School Psychologist
We are thrilled to welcome Malka Iskowitz as our new school psychologist. Ms. Iskowitz holds a master’s in psychology from Rutgers University Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology, as well as a school psychologist certification and is currently completing her doctoral work at Mt. Sinai’s Department of ADHD and Learning Disorders.
Ms. Iskowitz will be an integral part of the WTA team, providing essential support to our students, staff and families. She will focus on addressing emotional and behavioral challenges, and fostering a positive school environment. She will work closely with teachers, parents and students to ensure that every child has the resources they need to thrive, both academically and emotionally.
We believe that the addition of a school psychologist will enhance our ability to support our students’ diverse needs and contribute to their overall development, and she looks forward to working together with parents, teachers and students to ensure the best possible experience for our children.
Holly Bogart, Fourth Grade & Middle
School Teacher
Morah Holly is a veteran teacher with years of experience teaching English Language Arts to students of widely varying backgrounds. Her first experiences teaching focused on particularly low-scoring or underprivileged students in New York and Washington DC, to which she attributes immense growth, both personally and professionally. In the public school system, Morah Holly perfected the art of crafting individualized plans for particular classes, groups and individual students to help raise their levels of English literacy. After a distinguished career teaching in the public school system, Morah Holly took time off to raise a beautiful family, and she is overjoyed to be finally coming back to her passion of teaching children.
We are confident that these new hires will be valuable additions to our team, helping to inspire and educate our students in a warm and supportive environment. Their varied backgrounds and fresh perspectives will undoubtedly enhance our already vibrant school community.
At WTA, we strive to provide a nurturing and academically rigorous environment where each child can thrive. We look forward to seeing the positive impact that all our new faculty will have as they join us in this mission.
