February really started off with a huge week at WTA. First, on Friday, the second grade students celebrated their Mesibat Chumash—a beautiful event full of song and dance that truly exhibited the high level of preparation and knowledge that these young students have. Next, the seventh and eighth grade students had the opportunity to celebrate Shabbat with a once-in-a-year event—the annual WTA middle school shabbaton! These students, together with teachers, rabbis and even the head of school, celebrated Shabbat with good food, shiurim and plenty of singing and ice cream. Finally, Monday was Tu B’Shevat, and the whole school celebrated the unseasonably spring-like day. School had been decorated for the whole week (a boon during the cold weather over the weekend), and the culmination was seeing sidrei Tu B’Shevat throughout the school. From early childhood through middle school, students thanked Hashem for the bountiful fruits of the (Israeli) springtime!
