On Friday, June 2, WTA’s eighth grade took another trip to The Bristal Assisted Living facility in White Plains. Through the Better Together program, the eighth graders have been developing relationships with their elders at The Bristal this year. Even as they prepared for graduation and the end of their middle school experience, the students were still excited to share an afternoon with the residents, playing games and sharing about their lives.
Not to be outdone, the second grade hosted a publishing breakfast to celebrate their accomplishments. These students have been drafting and writing their own stories, after which they learned how books are bound and created their very own books. In the spirit of chesed that’s so prevalent at WTA, the students decided to “charge” parents who joined them for their celebratory breakfast—two items of kosher, non-perishable food to be donated to Hope Kosher Food Pantry. Kol hakavod to the second graders for their outstanding work and their drive to give to those in need.
