Shabbat is coming and WTA middle school students have had so much fun getting there! Since Monday, students have been counting down to Shabbat. Each class started the week by putting together their cholent recipe for the Ultimate Cholent Competition. On Wednesday, with ingredients on hand, each grade prepared their own recipe. Everyone was welcomed by wonderful cholent aromas on Thursday morning. Then at lunch on Thursday, they had the tasting competition. Cholent pot B, the fifth grade recipe, won! Kol hakavod to all of the middle school chefs! It was delicious!
The eighth grade had a tish and challah prep evening together on Thursday night. With dinner, sticky fingers kneading challah dough, some learning, schmoozing and fun—the night was a hit! And on Friday, erev Shabbat, all middle schoolers got to braid the challah dough which they brought home to bake.
