Last week, eighth graders at WTA joined The Ruach Program at Young Israel of New Rochelle for a joint event with Boots for Israel. Together with members of the Young Israel community, students packed 100 pairs of boots, each with an accompanying letter and a small snack for the soldier who would receive the boots. Having a chance to hear from the founder of Boots for Israel, Yakir Wachstock, was a very meaningful addition to this chesed opportunity. They learned about how the Boots for Israel project started, and the amazing lengths to which the program has gone, to ensure that the giborim protecting Medinat Yisrael are fully equipped and prepared.

On an altogether different note, WTA students returned to the second annual Interschool Bracha Bowl last Wednesday. For weeks, the small team of students from fourth and fifth grade trained, studying brachot with Rav Beit Hasefer Rabbi Avi Hoffman. This year the competition was fierce, and the WTA team proudly did their best and showed beautiful midot throughout the event. Kol hakavod to the amazing students, and to the winning teams from SAR and Yeshivat Noam!
