At WTA, each morning begins with the daily tekes, during which students gathertogether to learn, sing songs of achdut and contribute tzedakah, fostering a sense of community and the joy of giving. Making tzedakah a part of the students’ daily ritual is a beautiful way for every child to feel connected to this important mitzvah.
This month, WTA’s 2nd grade had the special honor of counting the tzedakah collected through our daily contributions during tekes—a perfect hands-on extension of our math lesson on money. The students were thrilled to discover they had raised an impressive $218!
To decide where to donate the funds, the class listened to presentations about various tzedakah organizations. After thoughtful discussion, they voted to support the IDF Widows & Orphans Organization, an impactful organization in Israel.
