Just before Pesach, WTA exemplified what it means to connect school projects to real life. Students got the opportunity to speak with professionals in the fields of real estate, architecture, and game design, and then shared their own projects with these guests for feedback.
Seventh grade students used Planner 5D software to design homes and explore floor planning and architecture. Students created an impressive gallery of homes, which were toured by Silversons Realty Associate Broker Jennifer (Hudi) Askowitz, who helped the students to understand the community-building aspects of real estate. Architect Karen Chubak of CGA Studio was able to open the students’ eyes to the concept that buildings are not merely beautiful structures but also have the power to change and shape society.
Fifth and sixth grade students used their imaginations to create literary board games from upcycled games and newly printed 3D pieces. Dr. Nava Silton, a developmental psychologist and creator of Realabilities and Addy & Uno, creates board games in her spare time and joined the students to show that no matter which profession you choose, the key is to combine your passions with everything you do. Dr. Silton, the creator of the game “Bashert,” is set to release two new kids’ games relating to themes of creativity and kindness this summer.
