Last week, the fourth grade at Westchester Torah Academy enjoyed the opportunity for some hands-on learning about the history of America and how many of our own families arrived here. Students explored the Statue of Liberty as well as Ellis Island, discussing the importance of immigration to the United States of America. This trip is always a favorite with WTA students, and the background information which the students learn in the weeks leading up to it help to prepare them for their unit on immigration in fifth grade.
