Yad Leah Accepting Applications for Inaugural Teen Leadership Program

(Courtesy of Yad Leah) Yad Leah has announced that they are accepting applications for their inaugural Teen Leadership Program for the upcoming school year, 2022-2023.

The program will provide qualified high school students with a unique, hands-on opportunity to develop leadership and organizational management skills through the lens of Yad Leah. Though many teens have collected and packed clothing for Yad Leah, few have had the opportunity to understand the operational structure it takes to annually send and distribute 360,000 items of clothing to families across Israel. This program will give teens an up-close opportunity to understand the inner workings of a nonprofit and create their own programs of impact.

Each New Jersey-based training session will be accompanied by an opportunity to put newly learned skills into practice. Areas of focus will include marketing, program development, community engagement and public speaking.

Yad Leah Director Jessica Katz is particularly excited about this new program. “This has been in the planning stages for so long and is part of a dream we have to give passionate chesed-minded teens real-life, specific skills to be change-makers and leaders in the Jewish community.”

Participants must be entering the 10th, 11th or 12th grade as of the fall of 2022. The program will consist of five to seven training sessions throughout the 2022-2023 school year.

Application deadline is June 10, 2022.
