Yair Daar to Join He’Atid

Concluding its search process, Yeshivat He’Atid announced that Yair Daar, a Bergenfield resident, has been named the school’s new assistant principal and mashgiach ruchani. Daar comes from SAR Academy in Riverdale, where he is a Judaic Studies curriculum coordinator and instructor. Previously, he worked in the Ptach special education program, as well as general education programs at MTA and SAR.

Dr. Tani Foger, principal of He’Atid, said of Daar’s hiring, “We are very excited to welcome Yair Daar to the He’Atid Family. As mashgiach ruchani, he will add more ruach to the school and will continue to develop our students’ connection to Am Yisrael, Eretz Yisrael and Torat Yisrael. His extensive teaching experience, coupled with his forward-thinking educational philosophy, make him a valuable addition to our administration.”

As mashgiach ruchani, Daar will be responsible for the school’s Judaic programming. He’Atid is dedicated to immersing its students in an environment that nourishes their minds and neshamot. The school is confident that Daar will ensure that its students are continually
engaged in yahadut through meaningful, experiential programming.

Having spent the past decade teaching Limudei Kodesh, Daar will bring his talent and expertise to He’Atid as he serves the school in this dual capacity. As part of his responsibilities as the mashgiach ruchani, he will teach Mishnah to the school’s fifth graders and parsha to students in all grades.

Abby Flamholz, President of the Board of Directors, commented, “Yair shares in the school’s vision of combining 21st-century skill building, experiential learning and the building of a unified Jewish community that will allow our students to become creative thinkers and leaders in both their Jewish and professional lives. We are extremely excited to have him play a lead role in researching cutting edge, affordable, educational models as we continue to build out our older grades.”

Daar is a graduate of Lander College, holds a master’s degree in school psychology from Touro College, and is a doctoral candidate at the Azrieli Graduate School of Education and Administration. He is also a graduate of Yeshiva University’s YU Lead program.

“A few years back when I first learned about Yeshivat He’Atid, I thought, ‘This is something I’d love to be a part of one day,’” said Daar. “Trying to help children grow as individuals, personally and spiritually, is something that has always been valuable to me. This is a major part of Yeshivat He’Atid’s mission and something I hope to help further.”

Daar continued, “The innovation taking place at Yeshivat He’Atid already has much to contribute to Jewish education globally. Taking this job is not just about working on behalf of one institution, but rather for the extended Jewish community. I have been impressed by how inviting the school has been to those looking to learn and by how thoughtfully the leadership has sought to learn from others. Yeshivat He’Atid’s parent body, faculty and lay leadership make up a dedicated and caring group. The yeshiva clearly has a bright future both as a school and a community. I look forward to meeting each member of the He’Atid family and getting to know each of our students.”
