Linking Northern and Central NJ, Bronx, Manhattan, Westchester and CT

Yavneh Academy Gan Special Visitors’ Day was indeed extremely special for both the children and their visitors. Spending time together is a great gift, and this wonderful morning allowed for that in an exciting way. The children in the Gan classes, together with their special visitors, joined to spend a fantastic morning in Yavneh Academy. The Purim spirit was felt as soon as everyone gathered together. In honor of Chodesh Adar, the day was also one of Yavneh’s dress-up days, Yom Crazy Kova, and the children and their guests were decked out in amazing, silly hats. The event featured Purim related stations including decorating and filling Mishloach Manot baskets to be donated, making a silly hat, finding Purim items in a sensory bin, decorating a triangle shaped cookie, and a STEM station where groups worked together to code bots to reach a tzedakah box (Matanot L’evyonim).

Our event concluded with an erev Shabbat Assembly filled with ruach. The children, and some guests, spontaneously danced to the music led by Yoni Stokar. The feeling of Shabbat coming, coupled with the songs for Purim and Israel was both beautiful and meaningful.

We hope that this feeling of Yavneh community and family will stay with both the children and their visitors for years to come.
