Linking Northern and Central NJ, Bronx, Manhattan, Westchester and CT

Yavneh Academy is proud to have continued the great Yavneh Purim tradition of Megillah reading at the school Chagiga by the eighth grade boys. This year, fourteen students layned at two concurrent readings in school on Purim morning. Over the past few years, a connected tradition developed, as Rabbi Ross and the Megillah boys visit Early Childhood classrooms to talk about Purim and to read Megillah for the youngest students (and to give them a chance to practice their graggering techniques). It is a treat for everyone involved—the younger students love the chance to have a visit from the “big kids” in the school, and the eighth graders are always amazed at how well prepared our ECD students are for Purim.
