Yavneh Academy students in grades three through five participated in a Lag BOmer Maccabiah representing countries from all over the world! After opening ceremonies with the traditional Lag B’Omer bonfire lighting ceremony, students cheered on their country while competing for the gold in track and field, archery and volleyball. When not competing in sports, students were also able to perform acts of chesed and learn more about their country by making creative videos and posters. The day finished off with closing ceremonies with athletes watching each other’s video and medal winners were announced! Congratulations to the medal winners who will forever have their names on the Yavneh Lag B’Omer Maccabiah banners: Gold—Brazil, Silver—Norway, Bronze—Ecuador.
